4 explanations (in no particular order):

a. it's the typographic equivalent of the first rule in kung fu: you want to keep the center weight (chi/x-height) as close to the ground as possible, so that you almost sit already. then if you get knocked down, nobody notices and everyone thinks you are incredibly tough. you can use that thinking time to rest, stay put and win hearts and minds.

c. fangohr just looks stupid with a cap f. so everything else had lowercase dictated to it, 'cause that's how germans role.

d. americans are pretty loud already, so we are using our "in-door" typography.

b. i turned the whole site to lowercase and then forgot how to turn it off again…"
